NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – As Governor Christie prepares to embark on the second half of his four-year term, some of his closest cabinet members have been leaving the administration.

On Thursday, it was announced that Richard Bagger, Christie’s Chief of Staff since he took office, will be resigning his position and taking a job as a senior vice president at CelGene Corp., a multinational biopharmaceutical company based in Summit.

Bagger will serve until January 31, when he will hand over the top cabinet position to New Brunswick’s Kevin O’Dowd, who currently serves as a deputy chief counsel to the Governor.

Prior to Christie’s election, Kevin O’Dowd worked under the future Governor as chief of the securities and health care fraud unit in the U.S. Attorney’s office, according to a report on NJ.com.

O’Dowd’s wife Mary was named the Commissioner of Health and Senior Services earlier this year.  They reside in the downtown high-rise condominium complex, One Spring Street, according to voter registration records.
