NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Before I get into how fantastic Desta Ethiopian Restaurant is, and it is fantastic, I want to preface by stating that I have never been able to ‘get into’ Ethiopian cuisine – it just wasn’t my thing.

I have dined at a number of Ethiopian establishments, over a number of years, and nothing I have ever tried before has come close to the remarkable dishes I was served on a Friday night at Desta.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ--Still at the soft opening stage, The Dillinger Room, located at 338 George Street, is poised to be a New Brunswick staple.

After an eight month renovation the 105-year-old space, which was previously occupied for 19 years by Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant, is completely unrecognizable.

The polished concrete floors give the seamless effect of an enormous slab of cat-eye marble.

On Friday, February 28, it seemed like most of New Brunswick braved the cold to check out the grand opening night at the new establishment.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Blueberry lavender. Carrot cream.  Buttered peach cilantro.

Scented candles are what come to mind for most, but in fact these are just a few of the soda flavors that have graced the taps at Destination Dogs.

From the guys who brought pork belly and pineapple-topped hot dogs to the former Doll's Place, at the corner of Paterson and Joyce Kilmer, comes a beverage menu with ingredients that read like an apothecary's shopping list.
