NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This month and into August, the Mason Gross School of Arts will be putting on the annual Mason Gross Summer Series.

Every summer, the school hosts a variety of music, dance and theater performances, all free of charge. 

Dates are set for the 16th, 23rd, 24th, and 30th of July, as well as the 6th of August, and will alternate between the Nicholas Music Center and the Victoria J. Mastrobuono Center.

The first performance, set for 7 pm on July 16 at the Nicholas Music Center will feature a concert by the Boston Brass.

The group boasts a long list accomplishments in its 27-year history. Its’ performances have spanned 49 states and 30 countries. 

The Boston Brass had also played at such venues as The Juliard School, the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Eastman School of Music. 

Then on July 23 at 7 pm, the Rutgers Jazz Faculty will be set to perform at the Nicholas Music Center, with guest performances from Conrad Herwing, Raplh Bowen and Vic Juris. 

The next day, a 7 pm performance of the dance concert Summer Airs will take place at the Victoria Mastrobuono Theater. Choreography will be by Randy James, a Mason Gross Professor of Dance, and Doug Elkins, Mason Gross faculty member. 

A dance show will also run on 7 pm, July 30 at the Mastrobuno Theater, featuring a performance by Douglass Dunn and Dancers, and post-modernist dance group. 

The series will come to its close on August 6, with a 7 pm performance at the Nicholas Music Center by the JACK Quartet.
