Vasquez was traced the next day to New Hope, Pa., where he fled to in a borrowed car, and was arrested during an extensive investigation by Detective Monica Shearer of the South Brunswick Police Department, and Detectives Craig Marchak and Grace Brown of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Agt. Jennifer Morelli of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the case.

Judge Jimenez ordered Vasquez to have no contact with the family of the victim, but allowed all of the charges to be combined into one life sentence.  The killer was also given credit for the 937 days he was incarcerated from June 2015 to July 2018.

Although Vasquez received a life sentence, he could potentially be released on parole as early as fifteen years from now.  According to the NJ Department of Corrections website, he could become eligible for parole on February 16, 2033.
