NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Carlos Ocon, a 61-year-old New Brunswick resident, was arrested on July 26 and charged with sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.

The assault, which took place on Friday July 25, allegedly occurred in Boyd Park, located between Route 18 and the Raritan River.

Through the investigation, it was determined that Ocon approached the child outside of a store on Remsen Avenue, and led her to Boyd park.

After the assault, he “threatened her before releasing her on Remsen Avenue and George Street,” according to the press release issued by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities said that Ocon and the girl did not previously know each other.
